Farm2Market Tuesday Harvest is geared toward individual volunteers that would like to experience urban food production and harvest farm fresh produce for the market. Volunteers help with farm production activities such as watering, weeding, harvesting, mulching and pruning. Farm2Market Tuesday Harvest is limited to six people, larger groups can arrange a volunteer service day with the event organizer.

The Farm at Alameda Point Collaborative is a two-acre urban farm created by the Growing Youth Project (GYP) in 2005. GYP gave young APC residents an opportunity to develop leadership skills while addressing important health and food security issues in the community.  In 2012, GYP became the Farm2Market adult employment training program. Farm2Market  trainees grow produce, manage sales and lead volunteer groups.

What is the minimum age to volunteer?
The minimum age to volunteer is 13. We require that an adult accompany and supervise youth on their volunteer service day.

What should I wear and bring to volunteer?
What to bring and wear:
• Wear clothes that can get dirty
• Dress in layers (t-shirt, long-sleeve shirt and light jacket)
• Protection from the sun (hat, sun glasses and sunscreen)
• Protection from the rain (boots, rain jacket or poncho)
• Long-pants are recommended
• Close-toed shoes (such as athletic shoes)
• Water bottle

Where do I find a copy of the volunteer form?
The volunteer form is located on the APC website.

Each volunteer is expected to bring a completed copy of our volunteer form. All youth (13 to  17 years old) must have their volunteer form signed by a parent/legal guardian. Also, an adult must accompany and supervise youth on their volunteer service day.
